FROM THE NATIONAL PHYSICAL LABORATORY, TO THE CROWN AGENTS.

Gentlemen,

Teddington,

Middlesex.

18th October 1934.

PROPOSED POLICE LAUNCH.

We have received a letter from the Colonial Secretary,

Hong Kong, dated 20.9.1934 (reference No. 1561/29 D/S: FW.)

instructing us to carry out model experiments in connection with

a Police Launch for service in Hong Kong waters, and enclosing

the necessary plans and information to enable the test to be made.

We estimate the cost of this experiment work to lie

between £290 (two hundred and ninety pounds) and £350 (three

hundred and fifty pounds), the exact figure being dependent on

the amount of work entailed. As the Colonial Secretary's letter

states that you will be responsible for our fees we shall be glad

to hear at your early convenience that this is in order.

Meanwhile the experiment work is proceeding, and

Mr. W. Sprague, Assistant Government Marine Surveyor will represent

the Hong Kong Government at the tests.

Yours faithfully,

(Sga) T. L. BAKER.

Superintendent,

The William Froude Laboratory.
